The main piece of legislation governing environmental management in Kenya is the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act (EMCA) of 1999. As per the Act, all new projects that have the potential to interfere with the physical, social or biological environments in Kenya are required to undertake Environmental and Social Impact.

Over the years, CAS Consultants has gained extensive experience assessing the potential impacts of proposed infrastructure projects in all aspects of the environment, including the social, terrestrial wildlife, aquatic life, habitat, wetlands, plants, water quality, sediment input, and air quality.

During Project Construction we also audit the construction process to ensure compliance with the safeguards inbuilt in the project Environmental and Social Management Plan –EMSP
